About healed1337

I am a relatively new comic book fan writing this blog for other new comic book fans and/or people who are interested in comics but don't know where to start. I've always been interested in writing, to the point where I have a college Creative Writing Certificate and I'm currently a year 2 Journalism student. I also have another blog where I mostly make fun of bad movies - www.healed1337.blogspot.com As for how I got into comics, I've always had a passing interest in superheroes: most notably Batman, Spider-man and the X-Men. Until February of 2011 (I think,) my only experience with any of these franchises came from the movies and video games. Shortly after I bought Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 however, I decided to check out X-23, Wolverine's female clone. I ended up reading her Innocence Lost origin story and enjoyed it. From there, I started reading various X-Men comics and it quickly exploded into my newest hobby. My other interests/hobbies include video games, movies, music, playing sports, my dogs and weird news.

One Response to Release Day Rundown – July 17, 2013

What if AvX was meh. It’s hard to care about it.

FF was great. Pool party! And Julius Caesar! Nice.

Fantastic Four was great. Sue’s powers going on the fritz was horrifying. Val’s reaction was wonderful. I’m only slightly disappointed that we don’t actually get to see Thing punching Ben Franklin, but oh well.

    Thor was cool. Big fighting!

Cable and X-Force was great. A lot of fun. Boom Boom is so great. I love her. And you can tell that Domino loves her, too. She may yell at Boom, but it’s only because Boom keeps screwing everything up. And man, Larroca draws the hell out of Boom Boom.

ANXM was awesome. I think bendis might be the greatest trolling creator ever, given where that opening went. And Bobby hitting Thor with a snowball was the best moment of the week. That was amazing.

Avengers Assemble was really good. Lots of cool action, and some cool character stuff. It was nice seeing Sersi again. And Buffagni did a great job drawing her. I’m pretty excited for the final showdown with Yon-Rogg. Kick some ass, Carol!

X-Factor was really cool. It was nice seeing the truth about Shatterstar and Longshot revealed. Each story beat was actually immediately obvious, but handled well. I’m still so bummed to see this series coming to an end.
