I am a relatively new comic book fan writing this blog for other new comic book fans and/or people who are interested in comics but don’t know where to start. I’m also trying to get a novel published, and love writing in general.

As for how I became interested in comics, I’ve always had a passing interest in superheroes: most notably Batman, Spider-man and the X-Men. Until February of 2011 (I think,) my only experience with any of these franchises came from the movies and video games.

Shortly after I bought Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 however, I decided to check out X-23, Wolverine’s female clone. I ended up reading her Innocence Lost origin story and enjoyed it. From there, I started reading various X-Men comics and it quickly exploded into my newest hobby. My other interests/hobbies include video games, movies, music and weird news.

Great idea. New fans need a place they can get aquainted with comics without getting nerd judged.

At the end of the month I am going to run a collaborative article where I and others list their top 5 favorite comic series’ of the quarter. It would be a simple 1-5 list with 1 to 3 paragraphs for each selection explaining why you chose it. If you are interested let me know! The deadline is March 30th.

  4. Yes, I agree that the number or star scoring thing is a bit much.

A rating system is important. I run a blog that does a lot of reviews and recaps, and I wish I had established a rating system in the beginning. It helps with copyright/fair use issues when you are agonizing over what you can do with an image, and let’s face it. Posts must have art.

Hannah from Things Matter sent me. 🙂 So thank Hannah, or blame Hannah, as you will. I was one of her top commenters in 2014. Was in the top 5 for the year. I’ve fallen off a little this year, but I read her posts and frequently read her threads 😉

And yes, I am totally a social media ninja of nerdiness, though I am no guru.

    Nice to internet-meet you!
