I am a relatively new comic book fan writing this blog for other new comic book fans and/or people who are interested in comics but don’t know where to start. I’m also trying to get a novel published, and love writing in general.
As for how I became interested in comics, I’ve always had a passing interest in superheroes: most notably Batman, Spider-man and the X-Men. Until February of 2011 (I think,) my only experience with any of these franchises came from the movies and video games.
Shortly after I bought Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 however, I decided to check out X-23, Wolverine’s female clone. I ended up reading her Innocence Lost origin story and enjoyed it. From there, I started reading various X-Men comics and it quickly exploded into my newest hobby. My other interests/hobbies include video games, movies, music and weird news.
Great idea. New fans need a place they can get aquainted with comics without getting nerd judged.

Would this be for current ongoing titles or for any series I’ve ever read, whether it’s ongoing or ended?

Yes, I agree that the number or star scoring thing is a bit much.

A rating system is important. I run a blog that does a lot of reviews and recaps, and I wish I had established a rating system in the beginning. It helps with copyright/fair use issues when you are agonizing over what you can do with an image, and let’s face it. Posts must have art.
Hannah from Things Matter sent me. 🙂 So thank Hannah, or blame Hannah, as you will. I was one of her top commenters in 2014. Was in the top 5 for the year. I’ve fallen off a little this year, but I read her posts and frequently read her threads 😉
And yes, I am totally a social media ninja of nerdiness, though I am no guru.
